Best SaneBox alternative for AI email help.
Sorting, or drafting and acting?
Press Cmd+/ and Jarvis (getjarvis.eu), a desktop AI assistant, drafts or acts on the email on your screen. Jarvis has zero reviews and no star rating on every directory that lists it, checked on 24 August 2026. On Windows the hotkey is Ctrl+/, and the bar can reply to or summarize the thread through connected Gmail or Outlook. Persistent memory keeps your context between sessions. Jarvis is the broader, in-app assistant shape; SaneBox remains the simpler, purpose-built background-filtering tool. Jarvis is free for 40 requests every week, then $16/month for Pro, or $32/month for Unlimited. Scroll down for the full profiles and July 2026 pricing below.

How we put this list together: Jarvis is our product — this site is getjarvis.eu — so treat the #1 spot as an editorial opinion with an obvious interest, and check the sourced facts yourself. Every price and tier name on this page was checked in July 2026 against the vendors' own public pricing pages (getjarvis.eu/pricing, clean.email/plans, superhuman.com/plans, fyxer.com/pricing, shortwave.com/pricing) or, where a vendor's page renders prices client-side and returned no numeric content, a secondary pricing tracker cited by name. SaneBox is the one case here: sanebox.com's own pricing page did not return numeric content to our fetcher, so its monthly figures below are sourced from tekpon.com's plan breakdown (checked July 2026); a separate aggregator, get-alfred.ai, cites roughly half those amounts, which appears to reflect SaneBox's discounted multi-year prepay terms rather than standard monthly billing, but we could not confirm SaneBox's exact current monthly price directly from the vendor. Two further gaps we state rather than paper over: Fyxer's pricing page does not itemize which email providers it supports, and Shortwave's own docs state that Microsoft 365 and Exchange accounts are not supported. Each named limitation is drawn from the same vendor pages, not from third-party reviews.
1. Jarvis — An on-demand, screen-aware desktop assistant. Press Cmd+/ on macOS or Ctrl+/ on Windows and a floating bar screenshots the active window, answers questions about it, and acts in your apps through 30+ OAuth connectors (Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Notion, Linear, GitHub, Microsoft 365). Inference runs on Gemini via Jarvis’s GDPR-aligned backend, with persistent memory across sessions. Pricing: Free: $0 — 40 requests/week. Pro: $16/month ($144/year billed annually). Unlimited: $32/month. Checked July 2026. Platforms: macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows 10+, Linux. Known limitation: Cloud-only inference — Jarvis needs an internet connection and has no offline mode, and unlike SaneBox it does not run continuously in the background sorting mail while you're away; you invoke it yourself with the shortcut. Pick Jarvis if: you want one shortcut that drafts, summarizes, and acts across email and everything else on your desktop, not a background filter that only sorts what is already sitting in your inbox. 2. Clean Email — Bulk inbox cleanup and unsubscribe tool with rule-based Auto Clean and a Screener for one-time declutter and ongoing organization, working across any email provider from a web app. Pricing: Free: $0 — cleans up to 1,000 emails, no Screener/Auto Clean/Sender settings. Paid: 1 account $9.99/month or $29.99/year; 5 accounts $19.99/month or $49.99/year; 10 accounts $29.99/month or $99.99/year (annual billing saves up to ~70%). Checked July 2026 via checkthat.ai’s pricing breakdown. Platforms: Any email provider, via a web app on desktop, laptop, phone, and tablet. Known limitation: Prepaid subscriptions are non-refundable with “zero refunds or credits”, and the free tier is capped at 1,000 processed emails with Screener and Auto Clean excluded (per checkthat.ai). Pick Clean Email if: your main pain is bulk unsubscribing and decluttering years of backlog, not ongoing AI triage or drafting. 3. Superhuman — A premium, speed-focused email client (now bundled into Grammarly’s productivity suite following Grammarly’s acquisition of Superhuman) with AI triage, auto-drafting, and a keyboard-first workflow. Pricing: Mail starts at Starter, $25 per member/month billed annually; Business at $33 per member/month billed annually unlocks Auto Drafts and Ask AI; Enterprise is custom-quoted. Checked July 2026 via superhuman.com/plans. Platforms: Gmail and Outlook/Microsoft 365, with dedicated desktop and mobile apps. Known limitation: AI drafting and inbox-productivity features — the actual SaneBox-comparable value — sit behind the $33/member/month (annual) Business tier; Starter at $25 covers Mail without them (per superhuman.com/plans). Pick Superhuman if: you want a fast, opinionated dedicated email client with AI drafting and don’t mind paying for the Business-tier bundle to unlock Mail. 4. Fyxer AI — An AI email assistant that sorts your inbox, drafts replies in your voice, and produces meeting notes across email and calendar. Pricing: Starter $30/month ($22.50/month billed annually) for 1 inbox + calendar; Professional $50/month ($37.50/month billed annually) adds multiple inboxes/calendars, Fyxer Chat, and HubSpot integration; Enterprise is custom-quoted with a 50-user minimum. Both paid tiers include a 7-day free trial. Checked July 2026 via fyxer.com/pricing. Platforms: Not itemized beyond inbox + calendar on fyxer.com/pricing — supported email providers are not confirmed on that page. Known limitation: Fyxer charges overage fees once inbound email volume exceeds a plan’s monthly allotment, so a high-volume inbox can cost more than the headline price, and a “seat” covers only one user’s inboxes (per fyxer.com/pricing). Pick Fyxer AI if: you want AI-drafted replies and meeting notes in addition to sorting, and your email volume stays inside plan allotments. 5. Shortwave — An AI-native email client built on Gmail with AI search, AI-powered filters, and a unified multi-account inbox. Pricing: Business $30/seat/month (150-300 daily AI requests, 3 AI filters); Premier $45/seat/month (2x AI usage, 10 AI filters, marked “Most popular”); Max $120/seat/month (6x AI usage, 50 AI filters). All plans include a 14-day free trial. Checked July 2026 via shortwave.com/pricing. Platforms: Gmail and Google Workspace only — Shortwave’s docs state that Microsoft 365 and Exchange accounts are not supported. Known limitation: AI usage is metered by a daily request quota and a max-threads-per-search cap that scales with tier, and Microsoft 365 and Exchange accounts are documented as unsupported — Shortwave works only with Gmail and Google Workspace. Pick Shortwave if: you live in Gmail and want an AI-native inbox with search and smart filters rather than a bolt-on triage layer.
Why people switch: SaneBox only sorts — it never drafts or acts; The AI-drafting alternatives gate their best features behind higher tiers; You want one shortcut that covers more than your inbox; You care about EU data residency.
Pick a competitor instead if: You just want quiet, background filtering on any email client — That is literally SaneBox’s product — provider-agnostic IMAP rules starting around $7/month (per tekpon.com), with no client switch required. Jarvis has to be invoked; it does not passively sort mail while you are away. You want to bulk-unsubscribe and declutter years of backlog — Clean Email’s Auto Clean and Screener are purpose-built for one-time cleanup, with a free tier covering up to 1,000 emails. Jarvis is not a bulk-unsubscribe tool. You want the fastest keyboard-driven inbox and use Outlook — Superhuman covers both Gmail and Outlook with keyboard-first navigation built for raw email speed, from its $25/member/month Starter tier. Jarvis is not a keyboard-first email client — it manages email through a connector from a floating bar. You want to keep your current email client and just add AI drafting — Fyxer installs into Gmail or Outlook as an overlay rather than requiring a switch, and attends meetings for notes. If you do not want a new assistant, Fyxer’s drafting layer is the lighter-weight fix.
What is the best SaneBox alternative in 2026? Jarvis for AI that drafts and acts across your whole desktop, not just filters mail; SaneBox itself remains the simplest, cheapest pick if all you want is background rules-based sorting; Clean Email for bulk unsubscribing; Superhuman or Fyxer if you want AI drafting layered on Gmail/Outlook; Shortwave if you live entirely in Gmail.
Does Jarvis filter email the way SaneBox does? Jarvis can triage and label mail through its Gmail and Outlook connectors when you invoke it, but it does not run continuously in the background applying rules the way SaneBox does. SaneBox is purpose-built, provider-agnostic, always-on triage; Jarvis is an on-demand assistant that also drafts, summarizes, and acts outside email.
Is Jarvis cheaper than SaneBox? That depends on the tier. SaneBox's Snack plan starts around $7/month for one account per tekpon.com (SaneBox's own pricing page did not render numeric content for us to confirm directly), which is cheaper than Jarvis's $16/month Pro tier — but Jarvis's free tier (40 requests/week) costs nothing, and its Pro tier adds drafting and 30+ app connectors that SaneBox does not offer at any price.
Is there a free SaneBox alternative? Jarvis has a genuine free tier (40 requests/week). SaneBox offers a 7-day trial rather than a permanent free plan; Clean Email’s free tier covers up to 1,000 cleaned emails; Superhuman, Fyxer, and Shortwave all require a paid plan after their trial periods.
Which SaneBox alternatives work with Outlook? SaneBox and Clean Email work with any IMAP or major provider, including Outlook. Jarvis and Superhuman both connect Outlook/Microsoft 365 directly. Fyxer’s supported providers are not itemized on its pricing page, and Shortwave supports Gmail and Google Workspace only — its docs state Microsoft 365 and Exchange are not supported.
Does Jarvis run in the background like SaneBox? No. Jarvis is deliberately on-demand — you summon it with Cmd+/ on macOS or Ctrl+/ on Windows, and it runs on a cloud, GDPR-aligned backend with no offline mode. SaneBox is the opposite: a server-side service that keeps applying rules to your inbox continuously without any manual trigger.
