Where Claude is the better choice
- You write long things, or read them — Claude is the strongest of the major assistants at long-context reading and careful prose, and that is most of what many people actually need. Jarvis routes to frontier models too, but if the single job is "help me write and reason over a 60-page document", go straight to Claude.
- You write code — Claude Code is included in Pro at $20/month and is a serious developer tool with no equivalent on the Jarvis side. Jarvis connects to GitHub as one of its connectors; it is not a coding agent.
- You are willing to wire up your own tools with MCP — Anthropic shipped MCP first and the ecosystem around it is large. If you will invest an afternoon connecting Claude to your own systems, it reaches further than its chat-window shape suggests — which is why it scores 7 on cross-app action against Jarvis's 9 despite not being a desktop assistant.
- You want the same assistant on every device — Claude runs on macOS, Windows, a Linux beta for Ubuntu and Debian, the web, iOS and Android. That is broader than Jarvis, which is desktop-only with no phone or web app — 9 against 7 on platform breadth, and the reason this row goes to Claude.
Where that leaves Jarvis honestly: it wins on reading the window you are already in without attaching a screenshot, on acting across 30+ connected apps by default, on memory you can inspect, and on drawing a pointer at the control you should click. It loses on platform breadth, loses badly on maturity — Anthropic is a major lab, Jarvis is one developer who launched on 30 April 2026 — and its desktop voice mode is not a reason to choose either product over the other.
