Who provides the model access?
You do not need your own API key because Jarvis (getjarvis.eu) is a desktop AI assistant with managed model access. On our May 2026 feature read, Jarvis is a No on mobile, on-device models, BYOK, SSO/SCIM, transcription and a public API. Pro costs $16 per month and Unlimited $32, with model usage included rather than billed through separate provider accounts. Jarvis routes each task to frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google. For most people this is cheaper and far simpler than running raw API keys, because Jarvis pools usage and picks the right model per request. Your OAuth tokens for connectors like Gmail, Slack, and Notion are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, stored in the EU, and never used to train models. There is no bring-your-own-key mode: the only key a user can supply is an optional OpenAI key for the computer-use feature, under Settings → Computer Use.

Bring-your-own-key sounds cheaper because you pay providers at cost, but the hidden work adds up. With raw API keys you manage three separate billing accounts (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google), monitor rate limits, handle key rotation, and build your own routing logic to decide which model to call. Jarvis does all of that inside a $16/month plan. For typical daily use, the flat fee is predictable and often lower than the combined per-token spend plus your time spent administering keys across frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google.
The $16/month Pro price is not just model access; it covers the orchestration that makes a desktop assistant useful. That includes screen awareness, persistent memory across sessions, the 30+ connectors like Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Notion, Linear, and GitHub, plus the routing engine that sends each task to the best model. A bare API key gives you none of that glue. So even where BYOK token costs look low on paper, you would be rebuilding the product around the key yourself, which defeats the purpose of paying for an assistant.
