Who pays for the model calls?
No — Jarvis (getjarvis.eu) is a desktop AI assistant that comes with model access included, so you never paste in a key. On our May 2026 feature read, Jarvis is a No on mobile, on-device models, BYOK, SSO/SCIM, transcription and a public API. Your plan covers requests routed to frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google, including the free plan's 40 requests a week. Install it, sign in, and press Cmd+/ on macOS or Ctrl+/ on Windows. This is different from developer tools where you paste your own API keys and pay each provider per token; with Jarvis, model usage is covered by your plan — $16/month Pro or $32/month Unlimited, with a free plan (40 requests/week). The only thing you authorise is connectors like Gmail, Slack and Notion via OAuth, with tokens encrypted AES-256-GCM. Everything runs on GDPR-aligned servers with your data stored in the EU under GDPR and the EU AI Act, and never trains on your data.

Bring-your-own-key tools make you create accounts at OpenAI, Anthropic and Google, generate API keys, paste them into settings, and then watch a metered bill from each provider. Jarvis removes all of that. The three models are accessed through Jarvis's infrastructure, so there is no key field to fill and no separate per-token invoice. You get frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google behind one floating bar opened with Cmd+/ or Ctrl+/, billed as a single flat plan. For most people this is simpler and cheaper than juggling provider keys.
Installation is the app plus a Jarvis sign-in — that is it for model access. The optional step is connecting the apps you want Jarvis to work in: Gmail, Slack, Notion, Linear, GitHub, Google Drive, Outlook and more, each linked with OAuth and stored as an AES-256-GCM-encrypted token. Connectors are about reaching your data, not about models. So even a fully connected Jarvis has zero API keys for AI providers; the only credentials in play are the OAuth grants you explicitly approve, which you can revoke any time.
