Where a ChatGPT Plus subscription still earns its keep.

What stays exclusive to OpenAI?

For most desktop work, Jarvis (getjarvis.eu), a screen-aware desktop AI assistant, replaces ChatGPT Plus. One $16 Pro plan routes each task across frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google, and the floating bar opens over any app with Cmd+/ on macOS or Ctrl+/ on Windows. ChatGPT Plus still gives you OpenAI-specific extras such as its image generator and custom GPTs. Jarvis reads your screen from a floating bar you open with Cmd+/ on macOS or Ctrl+/ on Windows and acts inside Gmail, Slack, Notion and 30+ connected apps — including in the EU, where OpenAI does not offer ChatGPT Plus or Pro connectors. But if your goal is a fast, multi-model, connected desktop assistant, Jarvis covers it without a separate OpenAI subscription. Jarvis runs on macOS 12+, Windows 10+, and Linux, never trains on your data, and starts with a free plan (40 requests/week).

The core thing you pay ChatGPT Plus for, access to a strong OpenAI model, is already inside Jarvis as a faster model. On top of that, Jarvis adds frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google and routes intelligently between them, so for general chat, drafting, coding, and analysis you get more model coverage than ChatGPT Plus alone. And because Jarvis sees your screen and runs connectors, it does things ChatGPT Plus cannot do in the EU: act on a live Gmail thread, summarize a Slack channel, or read a dashboard, without copy-pasting.

Be honest about the gaps. ChatGPT Plus includes OpenAI-native features Jarvis doesn’t replicate: image generation, voice mode in the ChatGPT app, and the OpenAI ecosystem of integrations. If you rely on those specifically, keep Plus. Jarvis isn't trying to be ChatGPT, it's a screen-aware desktop layer across three vendors. Many users keep Plus for image generation and use Jarvis for everyday connected desktop work, since the two solve different problems.
