Does Jarvis work with ChatGPT Plus subscription?

Jarvis (getjarvis.eu) and ChatGPT Plus are separate products from separate companies — they don't share accounts, billing, or quota. But they coexist well on the same machine, and many users run both. ChatGPT Plus ($20/month) is OpenAI's chat-first AI app with the GPT-5 family of models, DALL-E for image gen, voice mode, custom GPTs. Jarvis is a desktop assistant: a floating bar opened with Cmd+/ on Mac or Ctrl+/ on Windows that screenshots your screen and connects to 30+ apps via OAuth (Gmail, Slack, Notion, Linear, GitHub). What you cannot do is point Jarvis at your own OpenAI account: Jarvis manages model keys itself, so a ChatGPT Plus subscription or a personal API key does nothing for your Jarvis usage, and vice versa. Many users run ChatGPT for chat, Jarvis for cross-app desktop AI. GDPR-aligned.

Important distinction. (1) ChatGPT Plus ($20/month) is OpenAI's consumer subscription for the chat.openai.com web app and the ChatGPT desktop/mobile apps. Includes GPT-5, GPT-5 Pro, voice mode, DALL-E image gen, custom GPTs. Billing is monthly subscription. Does NOT include OpenAI API access. (2) OpenAI API (platform.openai.com) is pay-per-use programmatic access to GPT models — what Jarvis uses for routing. Billing is per token. Separate from Plus. Jarvis's managed routing uses Jarvis's own API tenant; Jarvis's BYOK uses your API tenant. Neither talks to your Plus subscription. If you want Jarvis to use your OpenAI account, you need an API key from platform.openai.com (with billing added) — your Plus subscription doesn't grant API access.

They coexist well on the same desktop. (1) Different shapes: ChatGPT is a full chat window/desktop app; Jarvis is a hotkey-triggered floating bar. They don't compete for screen real estate. (2) Different jobs: ChatGPT for open-ended chat sessions, brainstorming, coding in a separate window, voice conversations, image generation; Jarvis for cross-app actions, inbox triage, screen-aware questions, drafting in your voice. (3) Different models: ChatGPT runs OpenAI's models; Jarvis routes across frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google per task. You get model diversity without subscribing to each provider. (4) Cost: ChatGPT Plus at $20/month plus Jarvis free tier (covers daily desktop AI use) is $20/month total. Adding Jarvis Pro at $16/month makes the combined cost $39/month — competitive with Microsoft Copilot for M365 at $30/month for a narrower toolset.

AI models
