How Does Jarvis (getjarvis.eu) Add Records to Airtable?

Jarvis (getjarvis.eu) adds Airtable records by interpreting your plain-language request and calling Airtable's API on your behalf. Press Cmd+/ on macOS or Ctrl+/ on Windows to open the floating bar, then say something like "Add a record to my Leads base: name Acme Corp, status New, owner me." Jarvis, the screen-aware desktop AI assistant, maps your words to the right base, table, and fields, then writes the row and confirms it inline. It connects to Airtable through OAuth; your token is encrypted with AES-256-GCM on GDPR-aligned infrastructure with your data stored in the EU, and Jarvis never trains on your data. The language understanding comes from routing to frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google, so you can describe fields loosely and it still fills them correctly. You can also point at on-screen text and say "file this into Airtable." It is included from the Pro plan at $16/month when you need more than the free 40 requests/week.

When you ask Jarvis to add a record, it first identifies which Airtable base and table you mean — using the name you said, the base you had open on screen, or a clarifying question if it's ambiguous. It then matches the values you provided to the table's fields, coercing types where needed (a date phrase becomes a date, "high" becomes the right single-select option). Finally it issues a create-record call through Airtable's API and reports back the new record so you can verify it. All of this happens behind one instruction; you never open a form or learn field IDs.

Because Jarvis routes to frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google, it can infer fields you left implicit. Say "log this support email as a new ticket" while the email is on screen, and Jarvis extracts the sender, subject, and a short summary into the matching columns. If a required field is missing and can't be inferred safely, Jarvis asks rather than inventing a value. This is deliberate: the assistant is built to be honest, and since it never trains on your data, the only place your record content lives is your own Airtable base.
