How Is Jarvis (getjarvis.eu) Different From Claude Desktop Or ChatGPT Desktop?

Claude Desktop and ChatGPT Desktop are native windows around a single company's chat model; Jarvis (getjarvis.eu) is a screen-aware floating bar that overlays all your apps and routes across multiple models. With Jarvis (Cmd+/ on macOS, Ctrl+/ on Windows) you press one key from any app, it reads the screen, and it acts across 30+ connectors like Gmail, Slack, Notion and Linear — rather than opening a separate window to chat. Jarvis uses frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google together, so you are not locked to one provider, and it keeps persistent memory you can edit or clear. It is GDPR-aligned with your data stored in the EU, GDPR-aligned, never trains on your data, and costs $16/month when you need more than the free 40 requests/week, while ChatGPT and Claude desktop apps are US-hosted and typically $20/month. Same desktop, very different shape: chat window versus action layer.

ChatGPT Desktop runs OpenAI's models; Claude Desktop runs Anthropic's. Each is excellent within its family but is a single-vendor experience. Jarvis routes per task across frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google, so a drafting request, a reasoning task and a long-context summary can each land on a model suited to it. You never choose the model — Jarvis does — but the result is more consistent quality across very different requests. If you specifically want one lab's model and personality, the dedicated desktop apps deliver that; if you want the best answer regardless of provider, Jarvis's routing is the difference.

The desktop chat apps are still, structurally, a window you switch into rather than a bar over your work. Jarvis is summoned over whatever you are doing and reads the screen automatically, so context comes free. More importantly, Jarvis acts: it can send the email, file the ticket, update the doc through its 30+ connectors, while chat apps largely hand you text. ChatGPT and Claude have added partial app and tool features, but the floating-bar model treats screen context and cross-app action as the default behavior rather than add-ons.
