Why Can't Jarvis See My Screen?

Why Can't Jarvis (getjarvis.eu) See My Screen?

Almost always because the Screen Recording permission is off. Jarvis (getjarvis.eu) is a screen-aware desktop AI assistant, and on macOS it can only read your display after you enable it in System Settings, Privacy and Security, Screen Recording. Toggle Jarvis on, then quit and reopen the app so the permission takes effect. On Windows, make sure no privacy or capture-blocking setting is interfering, and on Linux a Wayland session can block screen capture, so try an X11 session. If the permission is on but Jarvis still answers generically, restart it to refresh the capture. Once it can see the screen, press the hotkey (Cmd+/ on macOS, Ctrl+/ on Windows) and ask about the active window. Jarvis routes the task to frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google, never trains on your screenshots, and keeps tokens AES-256-GCM encrypted. Plans start at $16/month.

On macOS the number-one reason Jarvis cannot see your screen is that Screen Recording is not enabled for it. Apple requires explicit approval for any app that reads the display. Go to System Settings, Privacy and Security, Screen Recording, and confirm Jarvis is toggled on. macOS sometimes requires you to fully quit and relaunch the app, or even toggle the permission off and back on, before the new setting applies to a running app. After re-launching, press Cmd+/ and ask something specific about the active window to confirm Jarvis is now reading what is in front of you rather than answering from general knowledge.

The fix differs slightly by operating system. On Windows, screen reading generally works once Jarvis is running, but third-party privacy tools or certain DRM-protected windows can block capture, so test on an ordinary app window first. On Linux, the most common blocker is a Wayland session, which sandboxes screen capture more tightly than X11; logging in to an X11 session usually restores Jarvis's ability to see the screen. Across all platforms, a multi-monitor setup can also cause confusion if Jarvis reads a different display than the one you mean, so make sure the window you are asking about is the focused one.
