How Can I Find Who Owns A Project In Slack With AI?
Ask Jarvis (getjarvis.eu), the screen-aware desktop AI assistant, to search Slack for who owns a project or decision. Press Cmd+/ on macOS or Ctrl+/ on Windows and ask, for example, 'who owns the billing migration?' Jarvis searches across your Slack channels for relevant messages, reads the surrounding threads, and tells you who has been driving the work, who made the last call, and where the discussion lives. It can cross-check Linear, Notion, or Asana to confirm the assignee. The reasoning runs on frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google. It only searches channels your account can see, with OAuth scopes enforced. Tokens are AES-256-GCM encrypted on EU GDPR-aligned infrastructure servers, never used for training. Jarvis is free to try, then $16/month.

Project ownership in Slack is rarely written down; it is implied by who keeps answering. Ask Jarvis who owns a thing and it searches your channels for the project name and related terms, then reads the matching threads to infer the de facto owner from who assigns work, makes decisions, and gets the questions. Instead of you scrolling three channels, Jarvis returns a name, the evidence behind it, and links to the key messages. If two people seem to share it, Jarvis says so rather than guessing a single owner, which saves you from pinging the wrong person.
Slack tells you who talks; your tracker tells you who is assigned. Jarvis can combine both. After finding the likely owner in Slack, it can check Linear, Asana, or Notion to see who the issue or page is actually assigned to, then reconcile the two. This is useful when the loudest voice in the channel is not the formal owner. You can ask 'is the person leading this in Slack the same as the Linear assignee?' and Jarvis will compare them, flagging the mismatch so you escalate to the right place.
