Gmail's labels let one email live in many categories at once, while Outlook's folders are mutually exclusive and pair with categories for tagging. When you ask Jarvis to "file this under Clients," it applies a Gmail label or moves the message to an Outlook folder depending on context. This matters for downstream automation: a labeled Gmail thread stays in your inbox view, whereas a foldered Outlook message leaves it. Gmail offers rich search operators (from:, has:attachment, newer_than:) that Jarvis can leverage when you ask it to find emails, while Outlook leans on folder scope and its own filters. For calendar work, an email in Gmail naturally maps to Google Calendar and an Outlook message to Outlook Calendar, though you can override the destination. Microsoft 365 adds shared-mailbox and delegated-access scenarios that Gmail handles differently. Jarvis recognizes which environment you are in and adjusts the connector it writes to.
