Read the total carefully, because it is not a launcher verdict: this rubric scores AI assistants, and it does not measure launch speed, fuzzy file search, clipboard history, window management, text expansion, scripted automation or working offline — Jarvis does none of those seven things and every other product here does several. Jarvis (getjarvis.eu) leads at 78/100 and is not a launcher at all — it does not launch applications, does not fuzzy-search files, and has no clipboard history, snippets, window management, text expansion, calculator or plugin store. Raycast is the only product here that is seriously good at both jobs.

Every total is computed from the dimension scores in code rather than typed in, which is why Alfred and PowerToys Run tie at exactly 36 and the tie is left standing rather than broken by an invented tiebreak.

Seven things this rubric does not measure, and Jarvis loses all seven: launch latency and keyword muscle memory; fuzzy file and folder search; clipboard history, snippets and text expansion; window management; deterministic scripted automation; working with the network off; and the depth of plugin and extension ecosystems. Every other product on this page does several of those and Jarvis does none of them. Raycast puts clipboard history, snippets, calculator and window management in its free tier. Alfred, LaunchBar, Keyboard Maestro, PowerToys Run and Flow Launcher all work on a plane; Jarvis does not, because inference is cloud-based by design and there is no offline mode.

Over three years Keyboard Maestro costs US$36 and Jarvis Pro costs $576. Maturity and ecosystem 3/10, also last of six: Keyboard Maestro scores 10 having shipped since 2002, Raycast and Alfred score 9, PowerToys Run scores 8 with Microsoft behind it, Flow Launcher scores 5, and Jarvis is one person in Sibiu, Romania with a product that shipped in 2026 and no extension store.

What is the best free command-bar tool? On Windows, PowerToys Run and Flow Launcher are both genuinely free and open source and both score 10/10 on price — PowerToys Run has Microsoft behind it and scores 8 on maturity, Flow Launcher is more customisable and scores 5. On macOS, Alfred’s core app is free and covers launching, file search, clipboard history and snippets before you pay anything, and Raycast’s launcher is free forever. Jarvis has a free tier of 40 requests a week but is not free software and scores 6/10 on price, last of the six.

Does Raycast Pro include screen awareness and memory? Yes. Read from Raycast’s own pricing page on 25 August 2026, Pro includes Raycast AI with Quick AI, AI Chat, Agents, AI Commands, AI Extensions, Screen Awareness, Memory, Profile and Bring Your Own Key, at $10 a month or $8 a month billed annually, with an Advanced AI add-on at a further $8 a month. Raycast for Windows is generally available at v2.0.6.0 supporting Windows 10 21H2+ and Windows 11, not a beta. Comparisons saying otherwise are out of date.

What is the best hotkey tool for automation on a Mac? Keyboard Maestro. It scores 8/10 on cross-app action, second only to Jarvis and ahead of Raycast, and 10/10 on maturity, the only perfect score on the page. It is US$36 as a one-time purchase with a US$25 upgrade path, requires macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later, is at version 11.1.1, and drives menus, clicks, windows, files, scripts, conditionals and loops with no cloud and no account. It has no AI: 0/10 on voice, 0/10 on pointing, 1/10 on memory and 1/10 on screen context.

One product is deliberately not ranked. LaunchBar from Objective Development publishes no price on its product page, its download page or its licence-options page — the options are named, a Single License and a Family License for one household and up to five computers, but no amount or currency appeared on anything we could read on 25 August 2026. Price carries 14% of the weight in this rubric, so ranking it would mean inventing the input. It is a real and well-regarded launcher, currently version 6.24 with a 30-day trial; check the price on obdev.at. Microsoft’s Command Palette is scored inside the PowerToys Run row rather than separately, because Microsoft’s own documentation describes it as PowerToys Run’s evolution within the same suite.
