Install Jarvis — Official Setup Guide (Mac, Windows, Linux)
Reviewed October 2026.
Install Jarvis (getjarvis.eu), the screen-aware desktop AI assistant, on macOS 12 or newer, Windows 10 or 11, or x86_64 Linux. Setup takes about two minutes: download, install, sign in, press Cmd+/.
Jarvis is distributed from getjarvis.eu and nowhere else — there is no app-store listing, no mirror and no reseller. It is a desktop application built by LOGICLUB SMART SRL, a company registered in Sibiu, Romania. If you want the signing, safety and pricing questions answered before you run anything, the per-platform download pages carry them: Mac, Windows and Linux each state how that build is signed and how to verify it yourself. This page assumes you have decided to install.
System requirements, by platform. macOS: macOS 12 Monterey or newer, on Apple Silicon (M1 to M4) or Intel, with native builds for both and no Rosetta; you download a .dmg disk image of about 271 MB, signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Windows: 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 on Intel or AMD, with no ARM64 build yet; you download Jarvis-Setup-x64.exe, about 266 MB, an NSIS installer that installs per-user, so no administrator password is required at install or at uninstall. Linux: an x86_64 desktop with libfuse2 present; you download an AppImage of about 414 MB, and there is no .deb package yet.
Two operating-system permissions are requested once, during setup. Screen Recording is the only API an operating system offers for reading the contents of a window, so it is what lets Jarvis answer questions about the screen you are on. Accessibility is what lets the bar float above other applications and lets the global shortcut fire while another app has focus. Microphone is optional and only needed for voice mode and dictation. Decline Screen Recording and Jarvis still works — it simply cannot see anything.
The install has the same shape on all three platforms: take the build for your machine from the download page, run it, sign in to create an account, grant the permissions your platform asks for, then press the shortcut. The exact numbered steps for macOS, Windows and Linux are below, followed by the hotkeys as shipped and the install failures worth knowing about.
First run: the shortcut is the whole interface. Press Cmd+/ on macOS or Ctrl+/ on Windows and Linux from inside any application and a bar opens over the current window without anything switching. Ask a question; when the question needs it, Jarvis takes one screenshot of the active window for that single request. There is no rolling capture and no always-on microphone. Every shortcut can be remapped in Settings, then Hotkeys.
Connect your apps: open Jarvis, press Cmd+, on macOS or Ctrl+, on Windows to open Settings, and go to the Integrations tab. Connectors are grouped by category — mail, messaging, docs, files, project management, code, design, calendar. Click Connect next to an app and an OAuth consent screen opens in your browser; approve the scopes and the panel shows the connector as connected. Tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and Disconnect in the same panel revokes access immediately. The full list is on the connectors page.
What the install costs and what it requires: the application is free to download on every platform and there is no licence key, but an account is required on first launch, because requests run through the Jarvis backend rather than an API key you supply. The free plan is 40 requests per week with no card, and the 7-day full Pro trial is card-free too; pricing carries the plan list and security documents the data and encryption posture.
Uninstalling is the normal platform route: on macOS quit Jarvis and move Jarvis.app from Applications to the Trash; on Windows open Settings, then Apps, and uninstall it like any other program; on Linux delete the AppImage file.
Anything not covered here goes to [email protected], which typically answers within a day on weekdays. Shorter answers to single questions live at how do I install Jarvis, what hotkey opens Jarvis and what Mac versions Jarvis supports.
System requirements
| Platform | Minimum OS | Hardware | What you download | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| macOS | macOS 12 Monterey or newer | Apple Silicon (M1 to M4) or Intel — native builds for both, no Rosetta | .dmg disk image, about 271 MB | Signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple |
| Windows | Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit | Intel or AMD. There is no ARM64 build yet | Jarvis-Setup-x64.exe, about 266 MB | NSIS installer, per-user — no administrator password required |
| Linux | An x86_64 desktop with libfuse2 present | x86_64 only | AppImage, about 414 MB | No .deb package yet — the AppImage is the only Linux build |
Install Jarvis on macOS
- Go to getjarvis.eu/download and choose Download for macOS. Apple Silicon and Intel are separate builds — an Apple Silicon build will not launch on an Intel Mac, so take the one the page offers for your machine.
- Open the downloaded .dmg (about 271 MB).
- Drag the Jarvis icon onto the Applications folder in the same window.
- Open Applications and double-click Jarvis. The build is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized, so Gatekeeper opens it normally — no right-click workaround is needed. To verify the signature yourself, run spctl -a -vv /Applications/Jarvis.app in Terminal.
- Sign in with your email to create an account. This is required because requests run through the Jarvis backend rather than an API key you supply. The free plan needs no payment details.
- Grant Screen Recording when prompted, under System Settings, Privacy & Security, Screen Recording. Grant Accessibility in the same panel so the bar can float above other apps and the global shortcut can fire while another app has focus.
- Optional: grant Microphone, under System Settings, Privacy & Security, Microphone, if you want voice mode and dictation.
- Press Cmd+/ from any application. The bar appears over whatever you were doing.
Install Jarvis on Windows
- Go to getjarvis.eu/download and choose Download for Windows.
- Optional but worth doing once: right-click the downloaded Jarvis-Setup-x64.exe, open Properties, and read the Digital Signatures tab before you run it.
- Run the installer and follow the wizard.
- If Windows shows a "Windows protected your PC" SmartScreen notice, choose More info, then Run anyway. That prompt is a reputation check on a file Microsoft has not seen often yet — it is not a malware verdict.
- Sign in with your email to create an account. The free plan needs no card.
- Press Ctrl+/ from any application to open the bar.
Install Jarvis on Linux
- Go to getjarvis.eu/download and choose Download for Linux. AppImages are not signed the way platform installers are, so the URL is the trust anchor: it must come from getjarvis.eu.
- Install libfuse2 if your distribution does not already have it — on Ubuntu or Debian, sudo apt install libfuse2.
- Mark the file executable: chmod +x ~/Downloads/Jarvis*.AppImage
- Run it: ./Jarvis*.AppImage
- Sign in with your email to create an account.
- Press Ctrl+/ from any application to open the bar.
Hotkeys as shipped
| Action | macOS | Windows & Linux |
|---|---|---|
| Open the floating bar | Cmd+/ | Ctrl+/ |
| Voice conversation | Double-tap Control | Double-tap Control |
| Dictation into the active text field | Double-tap Option | Double-tap Alt |
| Dismiss the bar | Esc | Esc |
| Open Settings | Cmd+, | Ctrl+, |
| Reset the bar position | Cmd+Shift+0 | Ctrl+Shift+0 |
Troubleshooting
- macOS says the app is damaged or cannot be opened
- Right-click Jarvis in Applications and choose Open, then confirm. If macOS still refuses, clear the quarantine attribute in Terminal: xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Jarvis.app
- Windows SmartScreen blocks the installer
- Choose More info, then Run anyway. The installer is digitally signed — you can confirm that in its Properties dialog under Digital Signatures — but Microsoft builds reputation for a new publisher over time, and until it does, new releases can raise this notice.
- The Linux AppImage does nothing when I double-click it
- libfuse2 is missing. On Ubuntu or Debian: sudo apt install libfuse2. Then make sure the file is executable with chmod +x and run it from a terminal so any remaining error is visible.
- Screen Recording will not grant on macOS
- Quit Jarvis fully with Cmd+Q, reopen it, and grant the permission again. If it still fails, restart the Mac — some Monterey installs do not apply the permission until the next login.
- Cmd+/ or Ctrl+/ does not open the bar
- Another application has claimed the shortcut — JetBrains IDEs bind Cmd+/ for comment toggling, for example. Open Jarvis Settings, then Hotkeys, and remap it. The menu-bar icon opens the bar without a shortcut if you prefer.
- The Apple Silicon build will not launch on my Mac
- That build is arm64-only. On an Intel Mac, take the Download for Mac (Intel) build from the download page instead.
- Do I have to create an account?
- Yes. Requests run through the Jarvis backend rather than an API key you supply, so the app asks you to sign in on first launch. The free plan is 40 requests per week with no card, and the 7-day full Pro trial is card-free too.
- Does Jarvis work without an internet connection?
- No. The app launches offline and past conversations remain readable, but new requests need a connection because inference runs on cloud-hosted frontier models.
